FairAware Award

As a school we have always committed to learning more about global issues to understand how we are connected to people around the world. Throughout lockdown, pupils in our Year 6 bubble completed  a project around the theme of 'football'. They learned how and where footballs are made and were appalled to discover that youngsters as young as 8 can be paid a pittance, working long hours to make the footballs we enjoy playing with in school. The children learned that, whatever their age, they have the power to make a difference in the world and through football, persuasive writing and speech making, convinced others to buy Fairtrade footballs by looking out for the Fairtrade logo. Their hard work and commitment to making a difference has now been recognised as they were awarded the FairAware award for their efforts.
